Over the weekend I had the opportunity to photograph a lifestyle portrait session, for Alec, in downtown Frederick, Maryland.
He was going for portraits that we authentic, yet detailed-oriented and thoughtfully posed. Overall, he desired a group of portraits that said: professional and welcoming.
The weather was a high 20 degrees that day, but we managed just fine downtown in the sun. In about 45 minutes, we hit 4 locations and were able to capture all the portraits need and ended our session before 1pm.

Our first location was The Frederick Coffee Co. where we ordered some coffee and took a seat at one of their outdoor tables. The sun and backdrop were perfect!
Our second location was down the street from The Frederick Coffee Co. We found a nice colorful building backdrop, with a few strands of lights around the windows, and took a few full-body portraits.
Our third location was closer to market street, where we found a large brick wall to take a few more full-body portraits. The backlight was really fun to work with too!
Our final location was near the Frederick Library, where we found a covered alley to take our last portraits. The light, here, reflected nicely into Alec’s face (due to the white sidewalk and shaded roof). The light also gave off a nice bright backlight to enhance Alec even more.
